Two killed in separate accidents

Two persons, including a seven-year-old girl, were killed in separate accidents in the city since Sunday night.

According to the police, a lorry on Monday hit the rear side of the two-wheeler on which Shwetha was riding pillion. The impact was such that she fell off to the right of the vehicle and was run over by the lorry, while her father, who was riding the two-wheeler, fell off on the left side and escaped with minor injuries. Resident of Attibele, Swetha was on her way to school when the accident took place. Her father, Manjunath, is a police constable in Bangalore. The Attibele police registered a case and seized the lorry.

Man knocked down

In another incident, a pedestrian was knocked down by a car on Mysore road on Sunday night. The same car then rammed an electricity pole that fell on a shed adjacent to it, thus injuring two labourers.

The police identified the dead man as Mahadeva (41), resident of Mutturayanagar and security guard at a car showroom. Mahadeva was walking home to have dinner when the accident occurred.

According to the police, the two workers, residents of the shed, were shifted to hospital soon after they were injured.

The Kengeri traffic police booked a case.
