Traffic inspector, bureaucrat’s wife settle stadium row

Anuja Pandey, wife of IAS officer Pankaj Kumar Pandey, and traffic police inspector Anjumala T. Nayak have settled the fracas between them which occurred outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in January this year during which Ms. Pandey allegedly slapped Ms. Nayak.

Following this, the Karnataka High Court on Friday quashed the cases booked by them against each other.

Ms. Nayak had lodged a case against Ms. Pandey, whose husband was then Hubli Electricity Supply Company (Hescom) Managing Director, alleging Ms. Pandey had slapped her after a row over entry into the stadium. Later, Ms. Pandey filed a private complaint against Ms. Nayak before a magistrate court alleging that the police officer had misbehaved with her.

As the lower courts had proceeded on both these complaints, they had approached the High Court challenging the cases filed against each other.

When their petitions came up for hearing before Justice H.N. Nagamohan Das on Friday, the duo agreed to amicably settle the issue. Following this, the court quashed their complaints against each other.
