Television’s most popular boss is debuting in Kannada. The popular Bigg Boss series, which recently completed its sixth season in Hindi, will be launched in a regional avatar this month.
The local version of the reality show will hit ETV Kannada by March 23. According to initial information, the sets for the Kannada show are in Lonavala, Maharashtra. Though like its other editions, the identities of the contestants — who will be under the watchful eyes of Bigg Boss — have been kept under wraps, nine strangers are expected to share the living space for about three months.
In the general format of the show, all the contestants are expected to live in the Bigg Boss house with practically no contact with the outside world, including their families. They “earn their living” inside the house by performing tasks allotted to them every week, and their every action and conversation is filmed. CCTV cameras man each corner of the house, so they are under the constant glare of the hitherto invisible Bigg Boss.
While the Hindi version of the show caught viewers’ fancy with actor Salman Khan as its host, the Kannada edition will have actor Sudeep stepping in.
