A day after yet another deadline set by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to make the city’s roads pothole-free ended, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) cracked the whip on engineers under whose jurisdiction potholes were found.

BBMP Commissioner N. Manjunath Prasad suspended C.V. Raman Nagar ward assistant engineer Mallinatha Malkapura, sub-division executive engineer Amrutkumar Salunki, and Shivajinagar sub-division assistant executive engineer Saifuddin on Tuesday.

Mr. Prasad inspected East zone, Rajarajeshwari Nagar , Yelahanka and West zone. “There is a marked change in the roads compared to how they were on October 15,” he said.

Mr. Prasad added that citizens could approach the BBMP if there were potholes in their locality and promised that they would be fixed within 48 hours.
