A 32-year-old driver attacked his wife with chopper over a family feud and later committed suicide fearing repercussions, on Wednesday.

The deceased Nagaraj got married to Devi (28) a few years ago and the couple had separated after Nagaraj suspected Devi’s fidelity. Devi was living with her parents at Kogilu, Srinivasapura, in Yelahanka.

On Wednesday, Nagaraj, who was on a motorcycle, intercepted Devi while she was returning home from a shop and attacked her with chopper, following a heated argument. Devi sustained severe injuries and collapsed. By the time, passers-by came to her rescue, Nagaraj sped away. Devi was rushed to a private hospital, where she is said to be in critical condition.
