The State unit of the Lok Satta Party on Thursday announced the second list of candidates for the Assembly elections scheduled to be held on May 5. The list includes people from professionals working in the field of medicine, software industry, human resources development, pharmaceuticals, farming and education.
The chosen ones
The names of candidates with the constituencies they will contest from are: Yogaiah V.C., ex-serviceman (IAF), H.R. Consultant, (Byatarayanapura); Sridhar Pabbisetty, who resigned as Chief Operating Officer from Centre for Public Policy, IIMB (Hebbal); Sumitra Iyengar, entrepreneur (Padmanabhanagar); Rupa Rani, pharmacist, (Rajajinagar); Naveena C.K., entrepreneur, (Krishnaraja, Mysore); Rajshree Muralidhar, marketing manager (Mahalakshmipuram); Shankarlinge Gowda, retired school teacher and a farmer, (Chikmagalur); Mahadevappa Gowda, lecturer, (Shira); Vasant Dalawai, farmer, run an NGO, (Athani); Ramanna R.J.H., judicial services (Raichur city); and Guruswamy Nayak, farmer (Raichur Rural). In the first list, the party had announced the names of four candidates. So, now the total number of candidates announced stands at 15.
Speaking to presspersons here on Thursday, party’s State unit president Ashwin Mahesh said, “For 65 years we have been hearing the same story that India is a developing nation. If we are ever to be a developed nation, Indian politics need to change”.
Central Campaign Team Leader of Lok Satta Party N.S. Mukunda said, “We will bring in value-based politics in these elections and are confident that voters will respond to our call to vote for the best candidates in the Assembly elections”. The party welcomes likeminded citizens to join the platform and contest elections, Mr. Mukunda added.
