Actor Kangana Ranaut sizzled on the ramp, reminiscent of her role in Fashion , at the second BeYu Fashion Awards 2010 here on Saturday.
With her curvaceous figure and feline walk, the showstopper proved that a pair of casual jeans could be as classy as a western gown or a flowing lehenga. Ms. Ranaut, is the brand ambassador for Lawman Pg3 jeans.
Twelve well-known designers from India and abroad showcased their collections during the two-day fashion extravaganza. Renowned model-turned-fashion designer, Bibi Russell, from Bangladesh, was among them.
The country's top models sashayed in and out with a lot of panache. The show was choreographed and put together by fashion choreographer Prasad Bidapa and associates, while international make-up artist Diego Schober touched-up the models' faces. “Bangalore needs more shows like this to discover talent in the city,” said Mr. Bidapa.
The who's who of Bangalore's fashion scene converged at the high-profile event. The recipient of the BeYu international lifetime achievement award, Ms. Russel, told The Hindu that she was delighted to be back in Bangalore after three years. “I always get a little jittery showcasing my collection because it is so simple... made with magic threads,” she said.
In the Indian category, Sharbari Datta received the award. Ramesh Dembla bagged the award for the best bridal designs, while Anjali Sharma won the emerging designer award.
