Are you tired of complaining about autorickshaw drivers who refuse to ply you to your destination and do not adhere to the metre? Here is a bunch of 130 auto drivers, who can be a refreshing change.

Now, about 130 autorickshaws in the city, labelled as “peace autos”, are equipped with a safety sheet on one side of the vehicle auto and a mini-library.

Besides these, the World Peacekeepers Movement, an NGO which started the initiative, also provides the auto drivers with a uniform , gives them awards once a yearand awards scholarships to their children.

Anil Shetty, CEO, World Peacekeepers Movement, said that seven peace autorickshaws were launched on October 2 last year to mark on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. As of June this year, they have 130 such vehiclespeace autos.

“These auto drivers generally go by the metre and do not fight with customers. We are also planning to train them to provide basic first aid,” he said.
