Relatives of Indians stranded in Nepal are getting anxious as helplines are inaccessible.
Kavitha R., sister-in-law of Bengaluru resident Ramakrishna Ellur, who is stuck in Kathmandu airport, said the family was worried about his safety, especially as aftershocks are continuing in Nepal.
She said, “Other than ‘1070’, we have not been able to get through any other helpline.”
Mr. Ellur’s family was hoping that the Indian Embassy would contact him. As of Sunday, he had not received any communication.
He tried to leave Kathmandu on Saturday evening but returned to his hotel since the airport was closed. On Sunday morning, he again went to the airport, where he was as of Sunday evening.
Ms. Kavitha said the family would be relieved only when Mr. Ellur returned to Bengaluru especially since phone networks were intermittent.
