Five injured after inebriated car driver rams vehicles

An inebriated 21-year-old LLB student, who was driving his friend’s car, rammed a motorcycle and an autorickshaw on Mysuru Road flyover on Friday injuring five persons. One of them is in serious condition. Following the accident, movement of vehicles on the flyover was affected for some time. Police identified the injured as Abdul Rahman (20), who was riding pillion on a motorcycle, autorickshaw driver Muneer (35), who is in ICU, and autorickshaw passengers Nazeer Ahmed (70), his wife Famida Begum (65) and Mohammed Jrish (30).

The injured persons were shifted to hospital.

The car driver, identified as Siddharth Jain, was arrested on charge of negligent driving in inebriated state, and his car was seized.
