Father-in-law had asked for Ravi’s transfer

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on the floor of the House said that Ravi’s father-in-law Hanumantharayappa had sought the officer’s transfer from Kolar to Bengaluru.

Mr. Hanumantharayappa once headed the Rajarajeshwari Nagar City Municipal Council. He is a prominent Congress leader in the Rajarajeswari Nagar Assembly constituency and according to sources, he is a close associate of Energy Minister D.K. Shivakumar.

When Congress denied him a ticket to contest from Rajarajeshwari Nagar in 2008, he switched loyalty to JD(S) and lost. After being with JD(S) for some time, he returned to the Congress. He also filed his nominations from the constituency in the Assembly election to 2013. He is also associated with Congress MLA Munirathna.
