Explosion at dump yard: 3 injured in Bangalore

Three persons were injured in an explosion at a dump yard in University of Agricultural Sciences at Hebbal here on Tuesday, police said.

The incident occurred when an iron container with explosives meant for rock blasting was thrown into a fire in the open dump yard of Agro Industries workshop mistaking it to be waste material, they said.

Waste materials were being destroyed in the dump yard when the incident occurred, police said, adding that two security guards and a driver at the workshop sustained minor injuries.

The injured were rushed to city-based Baptist Hospital, they said.
