Danske IT and Support Services Center, a wholly owned subsidiary of Denmark’s Danske Bank, on Wednesday opened a captive centre in Bengaluru. The new facility is the company's first captive centre outside Europe and the second largest centre globally. Danske has invested around $12 million for setting up the new facility, which will become operational in August.
Till now Danske had an outsourcing engagement with ITC Infotech, which had set up a dedicated development centre to manage its operations. Danske started its relationship with ITC in 2006 and is one of the largest clients of the mid-tier IT services company. ITC had deployed a 600-member strong team for Danske IT operations. According to sources, Danske has hired around 400 people from ITC for setting up the new facility.
“The India facility is the second largest IT centre for us. We were having a partnership with ITC Infotech for IT activities. With the new captive, we will be moving around 400 of ITC Infotech employees to our rolls and will start working from the new facility,” said Pankaj Gupta, Member of the Board and Managing Director, Danske IT and Support Services India Private Limited.
Danske IT and Support Services Center will be moving to its new facility on August 1.
