The son of a Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) councillor was reportedly involved in a minor road accident on the busy Hebbal Road on Sunday.
The youth, Shashank, is the son of Shettihalli ward councillor G. Nagabhushan. He is a final year degree student. He was driving his vehicle when he collided with another car near Cauvery junction. There was minor damage to the vehicles, but no one was hurt.
Shashank and the driver of the other car got into a heated argument. The on-duty traffic police personnel intervened and defused the situation. No complaint was filed, a senior police officer said.
However, mediapersons learnt about the incident.
Mr. Nagabhushan told The Hindu that he, along with his family, were out of town. But Shashank had stayed back. He had taken the vehicle out on Sunday.
"My son does not drink and it was a minor accident," Mr. Nagabhushan said, adding that he is ready to cooperate with the investigation into whether Shashank had misbehaved with police personnel or others.
“Let the police take action if he is found guilty. I will cooperate with the investigation,” he added.
