An 18-year-old boy was beaten to death and then his body set on fire by his father and his elder brother for objecting to their drinking habits in Talaghattapura on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Abuzar (18), a carpenter.
In the complaint, the victim’s mother, Shahtaj (40) stated that her husband Mohammaed Rafiq was an alcoholic who used to come home and beat her often. Abuzar, who despised this, questioned Rafiq when Shahtaj was out of town. Enraged, Rafiq, along with his elder son Sadiq, beat him to death and set his body on fire before fleeing from the scene.
