BBMP officials seize plastic bags

Almost four months after the State government imposed a blanket ban on plastic, shops and other establishments in MG Road, Brigade Road and Church Street here were found to be stocking plastic. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike officials, who paid an inspection on the above mentioned areas on Monday, seized 45 kg of plastic bags. “We collected a fine of Rs. 2,01,000,” said an official, adding that the Health Department would continue with its inspections for the next few weeks.
