Passers-by in Subramanyanagar and Rajajinagar were paralysed with fear on Thursday afternoon when three persons - a driver and two others - in an autorickshaw went on a stabbing spree. At least six persons were injured. The injured persons are Sarvesh, Kumar Swamy, Mrutyunajaya, Arvind, Amith and Praveen Kumar.

According to the police, around 2 p.m., three persons in an autorickshaw assaulted Swamy with a machete at Udaya Park near Subramanyanagar. The trio then went to Gayathri Park in Rajajinagar and attacked the others, who were walking on the road.

“The police shifted the injured to a nearby private hospital. The doctors declared that they were out of danger,” said a senior police officer.

The victims told the police that around three or four persons in an autorickhsaw had attacked them for no reason.

The police is using the registration number of the vehicle and CCTV camera footage to identify the trio. Three special teams were formed by the West Division police to nab them.

Cases have been registered in Subramanyanagar and Rajajinagar police stations.
