Bengaluru: An FIR was filed against Magadi MLA H.C. Balakrishna on Thursday by the Kudur police for abusing and creating a ruckus in the police station.

The police allege that Balakrishnan not only threatened and abused Inspector Nandish, but also misbehaved with him. He vented his ire on the police for allegedly failing to take action against the people who he claimed had assaulted his party members on Sunday. An FIR was registered in the case, but no arrest has been made so far.

Mr. Balakrishna allegedly warned the police that he would return on Monday and beat them up if they did not arrest the people involved in the assault.

According to the police, three members of his party, including two women, were allegedly beaten up by workers of a rival party at the Ayyandahalli temple during a function held on Sunday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Lakshmi Ganesh said, “We have registered a case against the MLA under IPC Sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of duty), 341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation).”
