Traffic has been thrown out of gear near the busy Town Hall, with members of the Anekal district unit of Congress staging a rally against demonetisation on Tuesday. Thousands of party workers have gathered at the venue for the protest, lead by Home Minister G. Parameshwara.

For close to an hour, the roads leading to and from Town Hall have been choked. Though traffic personnel are present, they have been unable to manage the situation. Thousands of vehicles are stranded on JC Road and Mysuru Road as the Town Hall junction is blocked.

Police are trying to ease the traffic, which has piled up till Hudson Circle. Other areas such as KG Road, Palace Road, Nrupathunga Road, Seshadri Road and other major arterial roads in the CBD area are witnessing slow moving traffic.
