In what could bring relief to class 12 students aspiring to join medical courses, the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has decided to postpone the date for UGET (Under Graduate Entrance Examination for Engineering Courses).
Aspirants for medical seats were in a fix as the entrance date for COMEDK UGET, which was scheduled for May 7, clashed with the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).
Sources said that UGET is now tentatively scheduled for May 14, and an official notification will be announced shortly.
Earlier, students were in a dilemma as the NEET, an entrance test which is the gateway to obtain medical and dental seats, was scheduled on the same date as COMEDK which is an entrance test to obtain seats in private engineering colleges.
“I plan to take both the exams as I am unsure if I will get a medical seat. If I fail to get a medical seat, obtaining a engineering seat through CET or COMEDK is my next option,” a student pointed out.
