The Jnanabharathi police have arrested a 24-year-old model on charge of blackmailing and extorting cash and other valuables from a city-based engineer, after recording a video of him in a compromising position.
According to the police, the accused lured the complainant to her house and recorded a video using a hidden camers fixed to the ceiling fan of her bedroom. The victim started blackmailing him and forced him to pay Rs. 1 lakh. She also took a blank cheque leaf of Rs. 4 lakh and a car from him.
When she began to demand more money, Vinod Kumar approached the police and filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint, the police caught the accused, identified as Harshini, and remanded her in judicial custody. The police are investigating the possible involvement of others in the racket.
