The State cabinet on Monday approved an action plan of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) involving a cost of ₹2,091 crore for the year 2017-18. It contains various development works in the city.

It also sanctioned ₹30 crore for construction of OPD buildings in Victoria Hospital.

Under the Smart City project, it was decided to delegate powers to the District In-charge Minister of Bengaluru. The government has already formed the Special Purpose Vehicle for the project.

For establishing Babu Jagjeevan Ram Institute at Beggar’s Colony, the cabinet decided to give construction work of the building to Nagarjuna Constructions for ₹188.25 crore.

For development of lakes, irrespective of the size, it was decided to bring all lakes under the Kere Sanjivini programme of the government.

The cabinet has given a clean chit to KAS officer Anitalakshmi after an inquiry by the Revenue Department with regard to missing of cheques related to crop compensation.
