The H.S.R. Layout police have arrested a 26-year-old security guard, who allegedly sexually assaulted a 18-month-old girl inside the premises of an apartment complex on Thursday.
The accused identified as Deepesh Pradhan used to work as a security guard in the apartment complex. The police said he took the girl to a corner of the building and allegedly assaulted her. The victim was playing with other children in the apartment’s play area when the assault took place.
The incident came to light when a few residents noticed the girl crying inconsolably and alerted her parents, who were also working in the same apartment. The parents rushed to the spot and found few scratch marks on her private parts and took her to the doctor, who confirmed the sexual assault.
The victim, upon inquiry, pointed fingers at the security guard and even few children in the play area also noticed the guard taking the child away.
Based on a complaint, the H.S.R. Layout police arrested Pradhan under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and remanded to him to judicial custody.
