Yesvantpur Duronto express to halt at Vizianagaram

Railways ignore demand for stop in the city

Ignoring the letter of MP Kambhampati Haribabu to Railway Minister reflecting people’s aspirations and people’s demand to re-route the 12245 Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto express through Visakhapatnam, the Railways have decided to provide an intermediate halt to 12245 Howrah-Yesvantpur Duronto express at Vizianagaram from January, 2016.

The railways have also announced a halt to 22203 Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad Duronto express at Vijayawada from January, 2016.

Train no. 12245, which leaves Howrah at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays will arrive at Vizianagaram at 10.05 p.m. and leave 10.15 to reach Yesvantapur the next day at 4 p.m.

In the return direction, 12246 Duronto will leave Yesvantpur at 11.15 a.m. on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and arrive at Vizianagaram at 4.35 a.m. the following days and leave at 4.45 a.m. to reach Howarh the same days at 4.10 p.m.

New timings

The timings of Visakhapatnam-Shalimar, Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Link, Visakhapatnam-Chennai, Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad(12783), Visakhapatnam-Nanded, Visakhapatnam-Jodhpur, Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Swarnajayathi, Visakhapatnam-Kollam, Visakhapatnam-Sai Nagar Shirdi and Visakhapatnam-LTT (Mumbai) express trains have been slightly changed in the new Time Table from October 1, due to operational reasons, according to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager M. Yelvender Yadav.

Train no. 22203 Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Duronto express has been advanced by 30 minutes to leave at 7.45 p.m. instead of 8.15 p.m. Similarly, the 18517 Korba-Visakhapatnam express has been advanced to leave Korba at 4 p.m. instead of 4.30 p.m. to arrive in Visakhapatnam at 6.50 a.m. instead of 7.50 a.m.

The timings of eight Passenger trains either originating or passing through Visakhapatnam have been slightly modified in the new Time Table and the numbers of a couple of passenger trains have been changed.
