Horlicks Wiz Kids 2010, the mega interschool fiesta started off with a bang in the city. The top winners at the much awaited city finals were D.V.N.S. Apurva (seniors wing) and P.Arvind (juniors wing) of Visakha Valley School. They will represent the city at the national finals to be held in Bangalore in November this year. More than 1,500 students from 28 schools in the city participated in the event which was held at Kalavani Port Trust Auditorium.

Various rounds were held to select the 12 finalists. The event tested the talents of the students beyond academics through more than 30 different competitions on diverse subjects such as music,

literature, dance, singing, writing, speaking, creativity, talent, art and design. The atmosphere was electrifying as the students in the audience cheered their teams with deafening claps and roars waving their school flags. What followed next was an exciting battle of wits. The teachers of the schools too entertained the huge gathering by presenting various performances.

The national winners of the quiz will get an opportunity to represent South East Asia at an International Conference scheduled later this year. As part of the final evaluation process for the South Asia Finals, the winners from every city will work on social projects and undertake various initiatives for the society.

“We congratulate the city level winners for demonstrating the talent and the drive to emerge as the winners. The effort, dedication and enthusiasm of these multi-talented students at Horlicks Wiz Kids is simply outstanding and makes us feel very proud to be part of this journey in discovering and nurturing this talent,” said Puneet Das, GM-Marketing, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited.
