Bringing homeopathy, naturopathy, acupuncture, ayurveda, yoga, and a host of traditional therapies under one roof, an alternative healing centre was initiated here on Wednesday.
With its focus on providing tailor-made therapeutic treatments, the main objective is to encourage people follow traditional healing methods. Adiseshu Vanajakshi Institute of Natural and Alternative Systems for Health and Healing (Avinashh), one of the arms of Global Aid that works for differently-abled persons, plans to reach out to people by rendering therapeutic services in many forms.
This apart, to encourage tribal children understand the concept of yoga and instil health discipline among them at a young age, some of the teachers and hostel wardens from tribal areas are also getting trained in yoga. “The ancient technique helps to connect your body and mind and improves your concentration level. The idea is to draw tribal children to understand the benefits of yoga and encourage them to practise on a regular basis,” Pragnanand, yoga instructor and director of Avinashh, said.
With customised therapies such as ‘panchakarma’, music and massage available, the focus is on offering natural treatments at an affordable cost, co-director of the centre Sai Padma said. “When we can discipline our thoughts and indulge in simple food, most of our health problems can be solved with ease. Our vision is to concentrate on this particular concept and make people understand the broader sense of practising yoga and other natural therapies,” she added.
