The Hindu in association with Essar Steel is organising elocution (English) and poster design contest for school students on the occasion of World Ozone Day on September 16. The event is being organised at Viskha Public Library, Dwaraka Nagar.

The contests are organised as part of an annual event, mainly to spread awareness on the depletion of ozone layer and how to preserve it.

The topic for both the contests is ‘Caring for all life under the Sun’ which is in tune with this year’s theme.

The event will be held from 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. and participants are requested to report at the venue by 1 p.m.

All contests are divided into two categories: Juniors from classes 5, 6 and 7 and senior from classes 8, 9 and 10.

For elocution only two students per school are allowed.

The schools can mail the list of participants to vijayaramaraju.c@t hehindu.co.in or call 0891-2536159 / 90524 57567 (Sidardh) / 90301 94408 (Krishna Chaitanya) / 89192 56418 (Mouli) / 98488 34944 (Vijaya Rama Raju) on or before September 14.
