Swine flu case in Vizag

After a gap of one year, a swine flu case was reported in the city when a four-year-old boy being treated at King George Hospital’s isolation ward tested positive.

The boy was admitted in KGH on January 24 with symptoms of swine flu. The result of swab test which was received on Wednesday was positive. The boy is recovering, DMHO J. Sarojini said on Wednesday.

A few cases of suspected swine flu were reported during the last one week and all the patients tested negative.

Minister allays fear

Ongole Staff Reporter adds: Allaying fear of people over swine flu, State Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas has said that the health machinery is fully geared to tackle the situation.

“We have taken all precautionary measures. Enough medicines and masks have been made available at State-run hospitals,” he told reporters here on Wednesday.
