November 13, 2014 11:56 pm | Updated 11:56 pm IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

Registration of shops and establishments, their renewals, issue of duplicate registration certificates and notice of change under the AP Shops and Establishments Act are to be made only through Mee Seva centres.

To obviate the difficulty of the service seekers due to lack of awareness on jurisdictions, the Labour Department has decided to deliver the services electronically as mandated under the IT &C Act 2000. The Labour Department offices will not entertain any applications for registration of shops and establishments, renewals, issue of duplicate certificates and notice of change.

The renewal of registration can be done at Mee Seva centres without fine up to November 30, with a fine of 25 per cent up to December 31 and thereafter a fine of 50 per cent will be levied, according to the Labour Department officials.

For new registrations, the applicant has to submit the following details along with copies; address of proprietor; photo; Aadhaar number of proprietor; ward number where the shop is located; bank account details, including account number, bank name, branch, IFSC code, of both proprietor and employees and a soft copy if there are more than five employees.

For renewals apart from these details, the applicant has to submit old registration number and photo copy of registration certificate.
