Scientist in-charge of CIFT Research Centre
Dr. R. Raghu Prakash has taken over as Scientist in-charge of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Visakhapatnam Research Centre.
A marine biologist and an oceanographer with a PhD in pollution toxicology, he is from 1996 batch of ARS (Agriculture Research Service). He has over two decades of experience in the field of fishing technology and has been involved in sea turtle conservation and CIFT-TED (turtle excluder device) technology.
Dr. Raghu Prakash, principal scientist, has expertise in responsible and sustainable fishing technologies like by-catch reduction devices. He had led the first Central Indian Ocean expedition scientific cruise team for the assessment of Myctophid resources as chief scientist on-board FORV Sagar Sampada from Kochi to Mauritius.
