Scholarship granted to children of Group-D employees

A total of 70 children, of Group-D employees from Visakhapatnam Division, who have gone for higher studies, were granted scholarship from the Central Staff Benefit Fund, according to vice-president (central) of East Coast Railway Shramik Union Apparao Mahadev.

He said that 70 of the total 95 beneficiaries in ECoR were from Visakhapatnam Division. Railway employees could obtain a number of concessions from the Staff Benefit Fund (SBF) and all that they had to do was to send an application to the zonal SBF office.

Mr. Appa Rao said that of the total amount of Rs.19,92,000 sanctioned, Visakhapatnam Division alone got Rs.14,76,000 in the form of scholarships and the amount would be credited to the employees accounts along with the salaries. He hailed ECoRSU general secretary Ch. Gandhi for his relentless struggles to achieve various benefits for employees.

ECoRSU working president (central) D. Shaleel and Divisional coordinator Vedula Narasinga Rao also hailed the efforts of the union leadership in getting better facilities to the workers.
