Row over loan repayment leads to murder

A man reportedly killed his friend when the latter sought repayment of a loan.

Adari Sankara Srinivasa Rao(40) of Muralinagar gave Rs.75,000 to his friend Pawan Sunil Kumar a year ago. Srinivasa Rao sought in vain repayment of the loan amount on a few occasions.

On the night of May 27, Srinivasa Rao went to Sunil’s shop and insisted on the repayment of the loan amount. Sunil reportedly brought out a bottle of petrol and poured the petrol on Srinivasa Rao and set him on fire.

Srinivasa Rao ran away screaming for help. Some local persons put out the flames and the victim was shifted to the King George Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment on Friday.

The Fifth Town Police launched a manhunt for the accused. Investigation is on.
