A biometric survey will be carried out at Tadi in Parawada mandal proposed to be shifted owing to pollution caused by pharmaceutical companies.

Stating that the State government was ready to shift the village, District Collector N. Yuvaraj wanted villagers to come out with specific proposals so that an action plan could be worked out.

The Collector held a meeting on Saturday with representatives of Tadi village, Pendurti MLA Bandru Satyanarayana Murthy and officials on shifting the village. The survey is essentially meant to enumerate the number of families living there.

Land available

A large extent of government land was available at Peda Mushidivada and if it was acceptable to the villagers, a rehabilitation colony would be developed there, Mr. Yuvaraj said.

He directed the Parawada Tahsildar to mark boundaries in the site proposed for the rehabilitation colony. If villagers expressed willingness, proposals on the land to be allotted to each family, the compensation for encroachments, development of colony and the scheme for construction of houses would be sent to the government.

Mr. Satyanarayana Murthy said work would be completed fast if the rehabilitation colony was proposed in assigned land instead of a private land. The MLA said he would convince villagers and, if necessary, would sanction 200 houses from his MLA quota and the remaining could be supplemented from some other scheme.

Joint Collector J. Nivas, Parawada ZPTC Paila Jagannadha Rao, Mandal president M. Appala Naidu, Tahsildar Malleswara Rao, former mandal president M. Neelababu and former sarpanch B. Appa Rao participated.
