Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has assured all help to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) in its efforts to get dedicated iron ore mines and in other areas where it needed help.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy gave this assurance to CMD of VSP A.P. Choudhary when the latter met him in Hyderabad on Tuesday. “Steel plant's move to acquire iron ore mines in the State will be put on the fast track,” the Chief Minister said and assured that he would take up the issue with his counterparts in Orissa, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh, the States in which VSP has applied for mining lease asking them to give priority to the Navaratna company.

Mr. Choudhary briefed the Chief Minister about the plant's performance, its growth plan and future expansion programme.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy sought VSP's support to make the recently launched Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu project, meant to provide employment to the youth and women, a success.
