Former Chairperson of Visakhapatnam Zilla Praja Parishad Vanjangi Kantamma resigned from the YSR Congress Party, upset over not being considered for party ticket from Paderu Assembly segment. She announced her resignation at Paderu recently.

A follower of YSR Congress leader Konathala Ramakrishna since the time both were in the Congress, Ms. Kantamma had high hopes of getting the party ticket from Paderu since she had been working for the party in the Assembly segment for a long time. However, the ticket is likely to be given to a former teacher Giddi Eswari.
