Girls outscored boys in Andhra University’s final year degree examinations conducted in March, the results of which were released by Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju here on Friday. Toppers of three of the four degree examinations were girls.
Among them, Rajaputh Baby Suneetha of Aditya Degree College, Palakole, belonging to SC category, secured first rank in B.Sc. examination, and all the top six in B.Sc. were girls; E.S. Sabbir Gousi of B.V.K. Degree College, Visakhapatnam (BC-E category), was B.Com. revised regulation (regular) topper, and the top four here were also girls; Motupalli Kanakadurga of V.V. Giri Kalasala, Dumpagadapa, was topper in B.A. examination and the top three here too were girls.
Kotta Venkata Krishna of Aditya Degree and PG College, Visakhapatnam, was topper in B.Com. vocational revised regulation course. Three of the top six in this examination were girls.
In all, 41 per cent girls passed B.Sc., 48 per cent B.Com. (regular), 51 per cent B.Com. vocational, and 34 per cent B.A. It was 21 per cent, 29 per cent, 29 per cent, and 21 per cent respectively in the case of boys.
In all, 17,832 candidates appeared for B.Sc., 7,807 for B.Com. (regular), 4,219 for B.Com vocational, and 3,933 for B.A. examinations.
The results were announced in a record time of 22 days.
Instant examStudents can apply for revaluation on or before May 9. Fee for instant examination has to be paid between April 30 and May 5 without penalty and till May 10 with a penalty of Rs.3,000.
“A special instant examination will be conducted on May 19 for those who failed in one subject,” Prof. Raju said.
