Regional Fire Officer G. Srinivasulu here on Tuesday held an emergency review meeting with the District Fire officials on the notices issued to hotels for non-implementation of fire safety norms.

The fire department officials had inspected 27 hotels in the city and found that 12 of them did not have the required fire safety equipment. The managements of these hotels have been directed to install the mandatory fire safety equipment and obtain NOC from the Fire Department within a month.

Action would be initiated against the violators, under the provisions of the Fire Safety Act, if they fail to install the equipment, within the stipulated time. Similarly, there are 88 licensed bar and restaurants in the city. Officials of GVMC and district Fire officials would inspect them and issue notices to those violating the norms.

GVMC Fire Officer E. Swami, District Fire Officer BVS Ram Prakash and Assistant Fire Officer N. Surendra Anand were among those who participated.
