Eye hosptial’s distinction

During its 19 years of service, Sankar Foundation Eye Hospital screened 15.84 lakh patients and 1,95,346 of the surgeries performed were on patients belonging to below poverty line.

A total of 2,46,501 eye surgeries were performed in all sub-specialties of ophthalmology and the BPL surgeries account for 78.8 per cent, said a hospital release.

At the anniversary celebrations on Thursday, Managing Trustee K. Mani Mala thanked everyone concerned in helping in successful delivery of eye care services to the poorer sections of society. She stressed the need for highest standards of professionalism.
