The TDP, by entering into an electoral alliance with the BJP, is giving the latter an opportunity to enter a traditionally secular State of Andhra Pradesh, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Brinda Karat has said.
The CPI(M) leader, who was in the city to campaign for the party candidates in the ensuing elections, addressed the media here on Tuesday and urged the voters not to vote for a communal party.
“The TDP, by its move, has become Telugu Destruction Party,” she said.
Pointing that there was no major difference in the economic outlook of the Congress and the BJP, as both were in favour of capitalists and foreign investment, and less interested in the real welfare of the people, she said that Rahul Gandhi’s manifesto was a copy of the BJP manifesto. She hoped that people would vote for a non-Congress and non-BJP front.
CPI(M) State Executive Council member and Gajuwaka Assembly candidate Ch. Narasing Rao was present.
Later, the CP(M) leader participated in roadshows and canvassed for the party candidates in different Assembly segments.
