Consumers have to link their Aadhaar card number with bank account to receive the benefit
The direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme for LPG refills will come into force in the district from October 1 and consumers have to complete the formalities for the same.
Every LPG consumer should have an Aadhaar card in his or her name and a bank account, and link the Aadhaar card number with the bank account to receive the subsidy.
At a meeting with LPG distributors and representatives of oil companies such as HPCL, IOC, and BPCL, Joint Collector Pravin Kumar wanted the process completed as quickly as possible since the time was short. They companies should enlighten the consumers about the need to get the process completed before October 1.
Application forms are available at the distributors’ offices and the filled-in forms can be dropped in the boxes provided at the distributors’ office or at select petrol bunks.
Lead District Manager Jayababu said he could be contacted in case of problems regarding opening a zero balance account or linking the Aadhaar card number with the bank account.
District Supply Officers Jwala Prakash and Nirmalbai were present.
Meanwhile, advertisements in newspapers about DBT informed that the LPG refill will be sold at marker price from October 1 and the subsidy will be deposited in the bank account of the consumer in advance.

Details of the scheme, enrolment centres, etc. are available on the website — www.petroleum.nic.in/dbtl — and the websites of indane, ebharatgas, and hpgas can be logged in for clarifications, queries, etc.
