The annual property show of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India will be organised at Andhra University Engineering College Grounds for three days from December 23.

This is the fourth show of the chapter and around 100 developers will showcase 400 projects, according to CREDAI Visakhapatnam Chairman G.V.V.S. Narayana.

Addressing a press conference along with president Peela Koteswara Rao, convener of the expo V. Dharmender and secretary K. S. R.K. Raju, he said with the show proving popular the exhibition would be held in 44000 sft, higher than the 36000 sft last year. Apart from villas and apartments, the show comprises layouts, building materials and interiors.

Mr. Narayana said prospective customers adopted a ‘wait and see’ approach after demonetisation but that phase was over.

With prices of inputs like steel and cement going up, there would not be any price correction now, he said. A business of ₹ 250 crore was expected.

Mr. Dharmender said in addition to real estate, an automobile and super bike pavilion would be an added attraction. Around a dozen banks will set up their counters so as to advise on home-loans and help customers take an informed decision, he said.

Mr. Koteswara Rao said the footfalls to the CREDAI expo were increasing every year since 2014. While the first show attracted 14,000 the subsequent years drew 21,000 and 32,000.

Last year the show resulted in a business of ₹ 90 crore. This year it hoped to attract one lakh people. There will be no entry free and all are eligible for lucky dip.

During the exhibition, technical sessions on industrial scenario and smart city development would be organised. B.R. Raju Memorial Awards to architecture students will also be given away.

Mr. Raju said the show would help overcome the hard times witnessed due to demonetisation, GST and the impending RERA.

Ayyappa temple

The expo that put up a pandal akin to that in ‘Namo Venkatesaya’ film last year will now set up an Ayyappa temple at the venue with puja, bhajans during the three-days.
