BMS has directed all its affiliate unions and members not go participate in the general strike called by Central trade unions in view of the Finance Minister’s announcement to implement the Bonus Amendment Act and pay bonus for 2014-15 and 2015-16 on the basis of revised norms and revised basic minimum wages to Rs.350 per day for unskilled non-agricultural workers for ‘C’ category areas.

Citing the other assurances, an outcome of talks between BMS delegation and the inter-ministerial group headed by Mr. Jaitley, on registration of contract workers and staffing agencies, social security benefit to some unorganised sections and on registration of trade unions, BMS leader K. Bhavani Sankarudu described it a great achievement for Indian workers in the recent past.
