BJP candidate for the north Andhra graduates constituency for the Legislative Council Cheruvu Ramakotaiah on Saturday said there was need to ensure that educated youth developed skills to suit employability and he would work in this direction if he got elected.
Talking to media persons before proceeding to file his nomination, he said there was no point in lamenting lack of employment opportunities without preparing oneself for the job.
“I also have a proper understanding of issues, thought, and the means to achieve. I am aware of the problems faced by teachers and the fee reimbursement for students and how several engineering colleges face the threat of closure if the fee reimbursement is not implemented immediately. I promise to fight with the quarters concerned for necessary action,” he said.
Mr. Ramakotaiah who is an office-bearer of the Builders' Association of India, felt that graduates who did not have their own homes could be provided house-sites where they could construct homes with loans. Similarly, he would make efforts to achieve captive mines for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant which could provide employment to thousands of workers, and appealed to all graduates to give him an opportunity to serve them as MLC for better results.
