Azure Power bags NTPC solar power projects

Azure Power, one of the leading independent power producers, has bagged solar power projects to generate 100 MW in the auctions conducted by NTPC.

The auction was part of the National Solar Mission. The projects will be built in the Solar Park proposed in Andhra Pradesh. NTPC has so far auctioned 1000 MW worth projects. Although 10 companies participated in the online reverse auction, Azure Power secured got 100 MW of total 150 MW, which was auctioned, the company announced in a press note issued here on Monday.

Azure Power founder and CEO Inderpreet Wadhwa stated in the release that with the latest project, they had once again demonstrated their project development capability. He said they had successfully brought down the cost of solar power.
