A wide range of materials will be on display in stalls set up at AMCOSA Auditorium
The three-day Architech Show 2010 opens at AMCOSA Auditorium here on Friday.
The architectural, building material and interior show is being organised for the fifth year by the Indian Institute of Architects, Visakhapatnam centre, in association with Millennium Trade Wings.
Along with the show, the centre is organising a seminar on Friday evening. On all the three days public may derive benefit from counselling in the evening on building material, the significance of GO 678 (that lays down various regulations), building penalisation scheme (BPS) and prospects for architecture.
IIA Visakhapatnam centre chairman D.V.K. Sudhakar told reporters here on Thursday that the show was a platform for various building materials giving an idea to the user on planning construction within a specified budget. Technological advancements in building materials would also be on display. Andhra University Vice-Chancellor B. Satyanarayana would inaugurate the exhibition.
A wide range of materials, including steel, cement, construction chemicals, sanitary ware – Indian and imported, wood carvings, glass, paints, furniture as well as interior decoration material would be on display in the 60 stalls to be set up at AMCOSA Auditorium.
Besides, the work of architects as well as students of architecture would also be showcased.
Secretary A. Madhava Rao said one could get a comprehensive idea of the availability of materials, the confusion that generally prevailed over building norms and how the corporation implemented various rules etc. by visiting the show and the counselling. IIA executive committee member Sunil Kumar and H. Murli Menda of Millennium Marketing Company were present.
