Now, get real time information of all civic services, government organisations, business units, and the latest updates of the city through a single portal.
Thanks to the initiative of two techies — R. Tiruvenganna and Sharon Prakash — who have launched the portal —www.smartvizag.com.
Launch today
The website that will be launched on Sunday will contain comprehensive information on the city’s services and a compilation of data of government bodies. Residents will now be able to lodge a complaint with any civic body through the portal’s common interface.
For instance, if anyone wants to know the location of a doctor in the city or any government office, they can easily get it on their mobile. Developed by Delevere Pvt. Ltd., this is the firm’s first initiative on the concept of Smart City.
“The total cost for setting set up the portal is Rs. 5 lakh. Our idea is to give a common platform, which will contain real time information about the city and also have a complaint forum for the residents. The database will be updated on a daily basis by our team. Through smartvizag, residents can have better connect with government and the neighbourhood,” said one of the founders R. Tiruvenganna, who is a B.Tech from GITAM University with a past experience as a quantitative analyst with a global analytical company.
Ironically, the project was launched on October 12 last year when the city was hit by cyclone Hudhud.
“At that time, there were rumours floating around. It was then that we felt the need to develop a reliable source of information which everyone has access to,” said Mr. Tiruvenganna.
However, due to technical issues, the project was delayed. Both the founders did an extensive research on smart cities before getting the prototypes ready. The team that has its office at Sunrise Startup Village will be introducing polls and forums so that residents can give their inputs.
Founders ofsmartvizag.comsay that the site offers residents data on civic services and allows them to lodge complaint through its common interface
