The Excise department arrested three persons and seized 500 kg of dry ganja at Paderu in Visakhapatnam Agency on Wednesday.
The arrested were identified as Govind Golluri (28), G. Koda (25) and Lakshmi Gunta (28), all residents of an interior village of Koraput district in Odisha.
According to Excise Inspector P. Srinivasa Rao, the main accused Govind was driving a Mahindra Scorpio and was travelling ahead as the pilot vehicle. He was also carrying about 40 kgs of ganja. Behind his vehicle the other two accused were carrying 460 kgs in a van.
Based on prior intelligence inputs, both the vehicles were intercepted and the trio were arrested.
