Son of a Railway employee, Chitturi Ramakrishna, has succeeded in getting 257 Rank in the Union Public Service Commission civil services examination and is likely to get into the Indian Police Service. This is the 9th highest rank in Andhra Pradesh.
Working as Director of Time coaching centre in Hyderabad to prepare for the Civil Service Examination, while coaching the CAT aspirants, he made it to the finals in the second attempt, but is not satisfied. “I will make yet another attempt to get into the Indian Administrative Service next year,” says Ramakrishna.
Sheer determination to study only in the IIM and hard work has put Mr.Ramakrishna, then a railway booking clerk at Repalle in Guntur district, in the IIM Ahmedabad. He was among the toppers in the country with 99.94 percentile in CAT.
After doing project in London, he was selected by Deliotte in 2010 with an annual package of Rs.10 lakh, but his passion to come into administrative service, brought him to `Time’ in Hyderabad. He had made it to the interview level in the last year’s examination, but could not succeed.
Ramakrishna, who hails from a modest background, studied up to 10th standard at Gudivada in Krishna District and Amli High School at Vijayawada and joined the Commercial Department of the railways through RRB vocational recruitment in 2004.
“It is the coaching classes at TIME Institute and uninterrupted reading of The Hindu for the past several years that brought me this position,” said Mr. Ramakrishna. A resident of Old Rajarajeswari Peta, two of his siblings are in Vijayawada staying with parents. Father Ch. Annavaraprasad works as Section Engineer at Signal and Telecom Division of the Vijayawada Division of South Central Railway.
