Raj Bhasha shield for Vijayawada division

The DRM said that the officers, typists/stenographers were trained in Hindi typing and stenography

Vijayawada Railway Division of the South Central Railway has been awarded the General Manager’s Raj Bhasha Efficiency Shield, for showing best performance in using Hindi language for 2011.

Divisional Railway Manager Pradeep Kumar, who is also the Town Official Language Implementation Committee, reviewed the implementation of official language in various sections, with Additional DRM S. Subba Rao and other officers in Vijayawada on Friday.

Announcing the achievement at a press conference the DRM said personnel branch office superintendent, Lakshmi Nancharamma, received the Railway Board’s Individual Cash Award for doing meritorious work in implementing Hindi.

One more officer and four employees of Vijayawada Division received the General Manager’s Individual Cash Awards for doing commendable work in Hindi, during 2011-12.

The awards were presented by the SCR General Manager, during the Zonal Raj Bhasha Fortnight Celebrations, held at Secunderabad, on Friday, said Mr. Pradeep Kumar.

Explaining about the measures being taken to implement use of Hindi, the DRM said that the officers, typists/stenographers were trained in Hindi typing and stenography.

Training is being imparted to computer operators for doing work in Hindi through Unicode.

Official Language officer Sunkara Chiranjeevi and others were present.
