In three shifts as many as 66 commissioners will be monitoring the 22 segments and also lead teams including sanitary inspectors, staff, police and others,” Mr. Sridhar said.

“We are expecting about 3.5 crore pilgrims for the festival. It is estimated that in 12 hours nearly 38 lakh people can take bath in the ghats in city. Bus services will be provided from Pushkar Nagars to ghats for the sake of pilgrims and 400 RTC buses will be operated for the same. A total of 18,000 sanitary workers will be roped in and for every five metres there will be a worker placed in the city,” he added.

When asked about delay in completion of Pinnamaneni Polyclinic Road works, Mr. Sridhar attributed it to slow pace of work on alignment of road median and delay on part of the contractor.
